![]() Every primary school in Yorkshire is being given the opportunity to be a part of Yorkshire Water’s exciting One Million Green Fingers campaign. We’ve set ourselves the stretching target of working with more than 350 partner schools across the Yorkshire and Humberside region. We aim to engage with at least 100,000 schoolchildren – that’s one million green fingers! Successful schools will receive £500 towards materials and equipment, as well as a team of enthusiastic Yorkshire Water volunteers to physically create their garden. Our volunteers want to create practical outdoor areas where children can quite literally ‘grow and learn’. These areas will incorporate a range of features including growing areas, rainwater recycling and composting facilities. Our intention is to teach children about food, nutrition and conservation, as well as the water cycle and the need to preserve nature’s most precious resource. How to get involved
Completed application forms should be returned to One Million Green Fingers c/o Community Affairs, Yorkshire Water, Western House, Halifax Road, Bradford, BD6 2LZ. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone who works for Yorkshire Water, we’re happy to accept your application and find a sponsor for you! | ![]() |
